Childhood cancer survivor clawback

Hello,

My name is Jacqueline Hyde and had bone marrow cancer 30 years ago when I was 5 years old. My mother obviously handled anything related to my receiving social security at that time.

I received a letter from the SSA this year stating that I was overpaid $2,567.17.

I have attempted to reach the SSA for further information on the overpayment but have been unable to reach anyone after many, many attempts.

I would love to know how to resolve this before it impacts me later in life.
